Glen Rovers 2-07 St Dymphnas 2-08
St Dymphnas had an good win over Glen rovers in the semi-final of the John Wallace Cup. Missing a couple of first team regulars Dymphnas put in a cracking first half display which should have seen them out of site at half time playing against the wind. But points from Luke Maloney(2), Donal Nevin, Barry Flangan and a goal from Richard McKenzie meant that the half time scores were level at half time 1.04 a piece even though Dympna's had most of the possession.
Dympna's came flying out of the blocks at the start of the second half and a 10 minute spell seen them register 1.02 without reply with the goal coming from Donal Nevin. Watford though to their credit showed why they were crowned county champions last year started to raise their game and levelled the game with 10 minutes to go. Kyle Connolly put the Watford side ahead for the first time in the game with 5 mins remaining but a long range effort by Luke Maloney levelled the scores again. The last attack by Dympna's in injury time resulted in Damien Maloney been fouled 20 metres from the Watford goal and his brother Luke converted to seal a confident boosting win for Dympna's.
