Lancs finalist decided on three way play off
September 02, 2008
The Lancashire county final will take place this year between John Mitchells and one of St Lawrences,Oisin or St Ann's after a weakened John Mitchells side which included rookie goalkeeper Danny McDonagh narrowly defeated a spirited St Ann's side at Turn Moss at the weekend.
With some of the big hitters missing John Mitchells managed to score 2-15 but conceded 4-04 to St Ann's and this was a major worry for Mitchells manager Barry Morris.St Ann's on the other hand caused problems to the Liverpool side especially their half forwards and were well drilled and organised under the guile of John Fitzy.
This leaves the championship as follows with Oisin and St Lawrences playing next Sunday at Old Bedians at 12.00Pm Sharp officiated by Barry McGeehan and the winners of this will play St Ann's on Sunday the 14th of September at Turn Moss at 1.00Pm.
Ther will be a break for the All Ireland football final and the Lancashire County final will be held at Greenbank in Liverpool the sunday after.
The lancashire county board will meet on the Monday 8th of September at the Irish Club Chorlton at 8.15Pm sharp and all clubs are asked to send their delegates.
