Meyler and Omagh oozing confidence

Omagh are enjoying every minute of their run to the Ulster club football final.

Conor Meyler admits confidence is high in the Omagh St. Enda's camp ahead of Sunday's Ulster club SFC final against Slaughtneil.

As a relative newcomer to senior football, the young half forward has had a dream season which could get even better if Omagh land the Seamus McFerran Cup for the first time at the expense of their fellow first-time provincial finalists.

"For a lot of us, it's only our second year in senior football, and to be thrown in with a team this year that's got to this stage, it's pretty unbelievable," he said in the Tyrone Constitution.

"For a lot of footballers, if you imagine your second year in senior football, you're still nervous, and you're still trying to find your way about.

"But the leaders and the older boys within the team, the likes of Joe McMahon and Justin McMahon and these boys, they have been able to keep you right, and with every game, we have grown in confidence naturally."

Meyler, who was man of the match in the sensational Ulster quarter-final win over Crossmaglen, says Omagh's confidence is such that they believe they can beaten anyone at this stage.

"You think of the first championship game against Coalisland at the start of this year compared to now, we have grown massively in confidence, and as a team we have come together so much more," he continued.

"And as it shows in the last five minutes, when you look around, you know that the other 14 men are going to go that extra mile for you, and you're going to work as hard for them.

"The ability is there, and when we really want to go for it, there's no stopping us."
