A win over record title holders Carrickmore in Sunday's Tyrone SFC final would change people's perception of Omagh St. Enda's, their manager Lawrence Strain reckons.

Speaking to the Irish News, Strain acknowledged: "Carrickmore are perceived as being a battle-hardened championship team. Omagh would be perceived as being a typical townie team."

In defending his side's mettle and self-belief, the Drumquin native added: "There are individuals in this Omagh team who have fantastic heart. In any team you will have players who are as brave as lions.

"You have players who are good and some who are not so good. It's a lazy generalisation to say that Omagh are soft townies.

"You don't beat Dromore in the semi-final of a championship if you have a soft underbelly. That's not to say that they will have convinced everybody that they are not soft. I think it's unfair.

"But I suppose until Omagh win a championship, that's how some people are going to think."
