Munroe takes it all in his stride

Tyrone manager Raymond Munroe has played down the fact that his charges are strong favourites to defeat Mayo in the All-Ireland MFC semi final at Croke Park later today.

The Ulster side have looked the most impressive of the remaining four teams in the minor championship, but Munroe, who guided Tyrone to All-Ireland glory in 2008, stressed that it is all on the day.

"We're there on merit and Mayo are there on merit. It's a completely new game and this is the first time that both panels are meeting each other. It makes for an interesting game and any team that reaches the semi-final of any competition is quality," said Munroe.

"You can only talk about the right things. It's hard to know the mindset of young people until the day of the game. After 10 or 15 minutes, you'll start to get a picture."
