Minor hurlers bid for All-Ireland glory
August 19, 2010
All the attention this weekend may be on the Tyrone minor footballers clash with Mayo in the All-Ireland semi final, but their hurling counterparts are bidding for All-Ireland glory also.
Casement Park is the venue for the All-Ireland minor C hurling championship final where the Red Hand County will take on Donegal in the decider.
Tyrone booked their place in the final following wins over Louth, South Down and South Antrim and Sunday's game is a repeat of the division two final between the same sides, which Donegal won by the narrowest of margins.
Tyrone will be looking to go one better this year as they lost in the final last year to Fermanagh and manager Cathal McErlean knows that it will be a tough encounter this weekend.
"Donegal beat us in that league final by a point at the Mid-Ulster arena, when they put it up to us. We defeated them easily in the league round robin stages," said McErlean.
"But, they really worked hard on their game ahead of the final and it showed. So, mentally we are under no illusions of what to expect this weekend."
