Carrickmore Ladies
Dissapointment for the senior ladies on Saturday night past as they went down to St Mc Cartans in the Championship. With it went their senior championship title. In a hard fought contest our girls played well to go comfortably in front but circumstances contrived to bring St Mc Cartans back into the game at a crucial stage. Only a point blank save denied us a draw and in the end it was not to be our night. No shame though as all involved gave it their all and were a credit to themselves and the club. At times like this we just have to reflect and be thankful for past glories and focus on securing the league. With no time to be down the reserve ladies stepped into the breach on Sunday night and progressed to the semi-final of the championship after beating Strabane Sigersons on Sunday evening 4.11 to 4.07. They now play An Charraig in Galbally on Friday evening at 6.30pm - good luck to the girls and their management. U14 girls travel to Greencastle on Wednesday evening for 7pm kick-off against Glenelly in the championship final. Good luck to all girls on the panel and their coaches. These young girls now carry the flag for the ladies as they compete in this county final and make their way towards senior finals of the future. They continue to train tonight (Thurs) from 6 to 7pm. U12s played their last league game last Wednesday against Moy. Well done to all on the panel as they record 7 wins out of 7 games. Undefeated the girls will progress to the 'Knock Out Blitz' finals.Gaelic-4-Girls takes place every Sunday for the next month for P2-P4 girls at the youth club from 12.30 to 1.30pm - please note this replaces Thursday coaching. U10 coaching for the older girls continues on Thursday evening from 7-8pm. Coaches for this week are Marese Tally, Cara Grogan, Maire Slane, Stacey McCann, Roisin McCartan and Lynette Hughes - please get a replacement if this doesnt suit. Help form parents is always appreciated.
The Club is hosting 2 championship semi-finals on Saturday evening - all available stewards and help are asked to be at pitch for 6pm please.
