Harte hasn't forgotten 2006

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte
Mickey Harte says Tyrone haven't forgotten their 2006 Ulster SFC defeat to Derry, and admits they will be using it as motivational tool ahead of Sunday's semi-final clash at Casement Park. Just as they are now, the Red Hands were defending All-Ireland champions, but failed to raise a gallop as they crashed to a 0-5 to 1-8 defeat. "The last time that we played Derry in the championship was in the first round in Omagh when we were defending All-Ireland champions as well and we didn't have a great day," the Tyrone manager recalled. "That's the memory that we have of a team that were very difficult to play against and their recent form has suggested that they are equally difficult to play against at the moment. "They got to the National League final and they have beaten Monaghan in the championship. In that game, they laid down their plan of how to beat them and it worked so we are going to have to play very well to get through." Harte feels criticism of the roughhouse tactics deployed by Derry against Monaghan won't affect their build-up to Sunday's game. "I think that Damian Cassidy seemed quite content with what happened against Monaghan. "He emphasised that it was all about getting a result. I dare say if they were in a position to play pretty football along with that, they would be capable of doing that too. "They feel that it's too long since they won an Ulster title so I think they will again be more focused on the result than the performance in terms of entertainment. "Damien is not in the business of entertaining - he's in the business of winning."
