Eamon O'Shea has dismissed speculation linking him with a return to the inter-county fold with Galway.

It was widely reported this morning that O'Shea, who stepped down after three years as Tipperary manager following their narrow All-Ireland SHC semi-final defeat to the Tribesmen in August, would be involved in Michael Donoghue's backroom team in the event of him being chosen to succeed Anthony Cunningham as Galway manager.

But Galway-based O'Shea has told Tipp FM that he is now "retired" from the inter-county scene along with players Lar Corbett, Shane McGrath, Conor O'Mahony and James Woodlock.
