James Woodlock was delighted that Tipperary's midfield proved their critics wrong with a dominant display against Cork.

Woodlock and his midfield partner Shane McGrath scored five points between them as Tipp blew the Munster champions away in the middle third of the field.

"I don't read the papers and I've never seen a match I've played in, but the boys were telling me during the week that it was going to hinge on the midfield - and I like nothing more than a challenge and neither does Shane McGrath," he said.

"We maybe had the upper hand. But I think there's more in us."

As impressive as Tipp were, the Drom & Inch clubman insists they will need to improve further if they're to beat Kilkenny in the All-Ireland final.

"We wouldn't be happy with what went on today. For the last 15 minutes, we took the foot off the pedal. If we do that again then you're not going to win the All-Ireland.

"Look, we're happy with what we did, but we have a lot of improving to do. I can see it in training and it's coming all the time."
