Tipperary expect Seamus Callanan to be fit for their All-Ireland SHC quarter-final against Dublin.

The high-scoring Drom-Inch clubman sustained a nasty blow to the thumb during the closing stages of last weekend's victory over Offaly, sparking fears that he could miss out on the Dubs' visit to Semple Stadium on Sunday week.

But selector Mike Ryan has confirmed that Callanan is not a doubt for the game:

"We were very concerned about Seamie's thumb but, as it happened, it's settled down and the medics are happy that it was just sore and bruised. It actually wasn't X-rayed.

"It might come back to haunt us but we trust our medics. Seamie is okay; he's only sore.

"The same with Gar Ryan. We were concerned about him too and he did go for an X-ray but it came back clear.

"Connie [O'Mahony] isn't quite as positive. He's had more treatment on his back and we're kind of in limbo at the moment. We're waiting to see if it settles down. He's a doubt.

"Everyone else is fine, there's nothing substantial. We're hoping to have Niall O'Meara taking a full part in Thursday's session."
