Clare's All-Ireland final hero Shane O'Donnell has been ruled out of the remainder of their league campaign due to a pulled hamstring.

Davy Fitz will have to plan for this weekend's semi-final clash against Tipperary minus the services of the 19 year old who sustained the injury in training last week.

"We reckon that Shane will be out for up to four weeks," selector Mike Deegan informed the Irish Daily Star.

"His big aim now is to be fit for the club championship on May 17."

Deegan had more positive news to report on Colm Galvin, Jamie Shanahan, Conor Cleary and Cathal 'Tots' O'Connell who were all expected to return to training this week.

As regards the last four clash with their neighbours, Deegan said: "You just take it like every other game - that's the way it is.

"The lads had a few weeks off after Laois and fellas played a few club matches.

"The last day we played them, they were missing a few and we got a win over them. But the big thing is that we'll see exactly where we stand heading into the summer."
