Intermediate League Final
Cahir and Moycarkey served up a wonderful display of free flowing football in Golden on Sunday last in the Intermediate final. With the scores level at half time 1-4 each it was all to play for in the second half. A goal from a penalty by Ashling Mc Carthy early in the second half gave Cahir a great lift. With just 3 minutes left to play Cahir looked home and dry when they were five points up. However Moycarkeys never say die etude saw them knock in a goal and straight from the kick out land a long range point. Once again Moycarkey won the kick out and it looked like a draw was on the cards but a rushed shot for a point went wide to be followed by referee Keith Delahunty blowing the full time whistle much to the delight of the Cahir supporters. Well done to both teams for a wonderful game. The Cahir House Hotel cup was presented to the Cahir captain Ann Marie O Gorman by County P.R.O Enda Mc Donnell. Referee Keith Delahunt was wished a pleasant trip to Canada as referee for Ladies Gaelic Football All Stars trip. Thanks to John Curravan and the Golden-Kilfeaclel G.A.A club for making their field available to Ladies Football.

National Under 14 Blitz.
Our under 14 squad had a very enjoyable trip to St Lomans G.A.A grounds in Mullingar for the National blitz. The early morning start and the long journey meant the girls were a bit sluggish in the first two games against Cork and Meath. Narrow defeats in both games did not dim their appetite for the final game against Mayo and the girls put in a fantastic effort only to lose out on a score line off 2-8 to 2-7.Back on the bus the girls were presented with gear bags and hoody's thanks to the fun raising of team management under the leadership of Biddy Ryan team Manager. A pit stop on the way home in Tullamore meant the girls were treated to a well-deserved meal in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Thanks to Siobhan, Ashling, Mary, Biddy and Paddy for taking great care of the girls all year.
