Sligo caretaker manager John Kent has suggested that former All Star midfielder Eamon O'Hara will not be returning for the team's Tommy Murphy Cup campaign. Strong speculation within the Yeats County suggested that O'Hara had hinted his desire to return to the Sligo setup ahead of their Tommy Murphy Cup, however the rumors have been meet with some surprise by Kent. Speaking on the matter though, Kent said that it was "the first I've heard of it". After Sligo's exit to Mayo in the Connacht SFC semi-final last month, O'Hara stated that he would not be participating in the second-tier competition as he felt it was "of absolutely no benefit to Sligo football".
