Intermediate Team News
League: St. Pats Intermediates played Owenmore Gaels last Saturday in a crucial League game, the result of which would decide which team was relegated to Junior status. As it was, the game finished in a draw, meaning Owenmore Gaels are relegated with St. Pats retaining their Intermediate position. The game, played at the Collooney pitch was high scoring, with the scoreboard reading 1-14 to 2-11 at the final whistle. Gaels started off the stronger, registering 1-2 before Pats got their first score, a well-taken point from Declan Clarke. Paul Kelly followed this up with a goal, a punched effort from a long ball in from Darragh Clarke. Kelly, on scoring form, took his second goal by taking on the keeper and hitting it low from 15 yards. Before the end of the half, Gaels scored four more points with Pats scoring two, a point from play from Padraic Clarke after skinning his player, and a free from Augustine Clarke. The second half started badly for Pats, with Gaels scoring five points without response. Conor Brady restored Pats' energy with a fisted effort after hard work from Barry Clarke. Good defending from Michael Hynes and a smart link-up with Conor Brady gave Padraic Clarke an opportunity for a score, one he took well. Gaels and Pats free taker Padraic Clarke exchanged several points over the next 10 minutes, with Paul Kelly rising Pats spirit with an excellently developed point. The last 5 minutes were very tense, with Barry Clarke catching superbly on his own goal-line and Gaels taking their last score of the match bringing them one point ahead. Padraic Clarke was awarded a free in the last minute, one which he converted under extreme pressure, leaving the game at a draw. Good for Pats were captain Michael Hynes, top scorer Paul Kelly and the ever hard-working Augustine Clarke. Pats were very lucky to escape demotion to Junior, and must improve their game dramatically for the Championship game in a few weeks time. Team: Martin Devaney, Patrick Farrell, Steven Killgallen, Enda McTiernan, Gary Boland, Michael Hynes, Augustine Clarke, Declan Clarke, Paul Kelly, Padraic Clarke, Donal Finneran, Conor Brady, Paul Finnerty, Darragh Clarke, Mark Boland. Subs: Barry Clarke, Paul Boland, Padraic Kearins, Keith Farry.
Best wishes to Steven Killgallen who was injured during the game and to Colin Keane who broke his collarbone in last week's game. Hard luck to Padraic and James Clarke who were on the Sligo Minor team who lost to Mayo last week in the Connacht semi-final.

U-16 Team News (Boys)
The under 16 boys earned a well deserved victory in the first round of the U-16 Championship against St Micheals on Wednsday evening last at Seamus Donegan Memorial Park. From the throw in St Pats showed that they were well up for the game with Enda Connolly and Thomas Mc Munn winning all the early contests in mid field. The back 5 of Shane Neary, Martin Clarke, Patrick Kevany, Ben Lynch & Donal Brady were well on top through out, with Brady and Lynch making very good runs through the St Micheals defence to help set up some good scores. The forward line of Pierce Kearins, Andrew Kelly, David Giblin, Cormac Boland and Cathal Finneran all worked very hard, with Giblin and Finneran picking up a lot of breaking ball which they used to good effect. Enda Connolly slotted over some good long range free's in the second half to extend the St Pats Lead. Micheal Connolly was the man between the posts and he kept a clean sheet through out the game. St Pats went on to win on a scoreline of St Pats 1-11, St Micheals 0-03.
The panel was: Micheal Connolly, Patrick Kevany, Ben Lynch, Martin Clarke, Thomas Mc Munn, Enda Connolly (Captain), Shane Neary, Donal Brady, Pierce Kearins, David Giblin, Andrew Kelly, Cormac Boland, Cathal Finneran. Subs: Stephen Kilcullen, Micheal Farrell & Ryan Mc Tiernan.

U-16 Team News (Boys)
On Tuesday evening last St Pats under 16 boys played hosts to Coolaney / Mullinbreena in Round 2 of the U-16 B Championship. In what was a very entertaining game, both sides produced some excellent football. It was Coolaney / Mullinabreena that took an early lead getting 3 points without reply. St Pats did get on the score bord after 15 minutes with a well struck free from Enda Connolly. However it was during this first 15 minutes that St Pats were guilty of missed scores, missing a total of 7 to 8 scoring opportunities. Despite this we went in at half time only 2 points in arrears. The second half saw a different Pats team emerge and some good inter passing among the team saw us go into a 2 point lead midway through the half. Failure to drive home our superiority at this point was to cost us dear as Coolaney / Mulinbreena started to pick of scores and with only minutes to go had retrieved their 2 point advantage once more. Coolaney / Mullinbreena went on to win on a score of Collaney / Mullinbreena 0-10 St Patricks 0.08. Jimmy Kilgallen on his debut between the posts for the U-16 team had a excellent game, pulling of some very good saves. Martin Clarke and Patrick Kevany kept things tight at the back. Ben Lynch and Donal Brady proved once more to be the torn in the oppositions side, as their pace with the ball was hard to deal with. Mid field partnership of Thomas Mc Munn and Enda Connolly worked hard, while Cathal Finneran and David Giblin were on top form in the half forward line. Overall it was a very good performance from the team, we now look forward to our next and final game in the group when we are away to Shamrock Gaels.
The panel was:Jimmy Kilgallen, Patrick Kevany, Ben Lynch, Martin Clarke, Thomas Mc Munn, Enda Connolly (Captain), Shane Neary, Donal Brady, Pierce Kearins, David Giblin, Andrew Kelly, Cormac Boland, Cathal Finneran. Subs: Kilcullen, Micheal Farrell & Ryan Mc Tiernan, Micheal Connolly.
