Bord na nÓg
U-10 - Monday & Wednesday Training is now over until the City League Competitions.
The Community Games team beat Screen/Dromard in a thrilling county final last Tuesday in a very competitive game with outstanding performances from Nathan and Jake Hargadon, Adam Lynch and Ryan Feeney. We face Castlebar in the Connacht Finals preliminary round, details have yet to be confirmed. Saturday Morning Coaching continues for all U-10 players.
U-12 - The young U-12 side had a good win over Castleconner last Thursday evening in St. Mary's and have now qualified for the latter stage of the Championship. Nathan Rooney top scored with 3-4 on the evening.

VHI Cul Camps

Saturday Morning Coaching
The Saturday Morning Coaching continues this weekend from 10.30am to 12.00pm. The John Kent Sport sponsored coaching continues to attract good numbers. The recent multinational day has helped us attract an international flavour and hopefully the numbers can be maintained over the coming weeks.
Senior/Intermediate
Our Senior team suffered a big loss away to a much hungrier St. Farnan's team on Saturday last. Despite fielding a very strong side we were unable to get up to the pace of the home side and they deservedly punished us with some well taken scores. With a further weeks training it will be hoped that a much improved performance will come this Saturday when we take on Castleconner away from home at 7.30pm.
Likewise our Intermediate side looked very rusty when going down by 0-07 - 0-04 away to St. Molaise Gaels on Sunday morning. In a tight game our inability to transform possession into scores cost us the points. Next up for the side is a home game against Tourlestrane this Sunday morning at 12 noon.
Community Games
Well done to all those who competed in the Community games track & fields events over the weekend.
Congratulations
Congratulations to Kevin O'Grady on being awarded the Michael Mooney Memorial award for 2007 by Sligo City GAA Board for his long dedication to youth over many years
Paul Newton Fundraiser
On Friday night last in the Glasshouse Hotel, the fundraising auction and draw took place, on what was a great night's entertainment. The huge turnout of people from far and wide was further evidence of the effect Paul has had on everyone he is come into contact with during his sporting career. Indeed, it was great to see representatives of a large number of Clubs within Sligo in attendance. Many thanks to all who contributed to the worthy cause and to the organising committee of Tommy Breheny, Padraic Oates, Karan McCabe, David Cummins, Niall Murray and Kevin Molloy. Thanks also to the staff of the Glasshouse Hotel for their hospitality on the night.
