Niall Carew felt the losses of Charlie Harrison and Adrian Marren contributed to Sligo's downfall against Roscommon.

Former All Star defender Harrison went off injured after 23 minutes, while goal-scorer Harrison received a 35th minute black card as the Yeats County lost by nine points after leading by eight at the interval.

"Losing Charlie Harrison, defensively we were kind of going to struggle then because we don't have anyone else with that experience," the Sligo manager told RTE.

"But we were in a great position, the half-time whistle came too quick for us.

"Adrian was playing well, he was a handfiul and they were struggling with him. When you lose a player like that up front, your marksman, they're the sort of players that keep you ticking over. They get you a point or two to keep the pockets of energy going.

"But Roscommon blitzed us in the second half and you have to commend them for that."
