Wynne proud of team mates

Owenmore Gaels captain Peter Wynne admitted that it was a huge relief for the club to win the junior title for the first since 1969.

The Collooney based outfit defeated Eastern Harps in the final to claim their first adult championship title in 46 years.

And the Sligo Champion reports Wynne as stating that the win was borne out of hard work by a committed bunch of players.

"This final is not something that would be regarded highly by many clubs on their calendar. For these two teams here though it meant a lot. It was 1969 when Oranmore Gaels last won any final," said Wynne.

"That makes it one of our most prestigious moments in our time. It really means an awful to everyone who is involved. The group that has come in have worked hard and there has been a lot of work done over the last number of years."
