Sligo still awaiting Flanagan decision

The Sligo County Board are set to find out this week whether or not Pat Flanagan is staying on for another year.

Flanagan is heavily linked with the Offaly manager's job and it seems as if the former Westmeath manager would like the opportunity to take charge of his native county.

County Board chairman Joe Taaffe told the Sligo Champion that Flanagan was set to let them know his decision this week.

"Pat has said he will let me know one way or another this week," said Taaffe. "We have a county executive meeting later in the week and there is a county board meeting as well. We have to have the situation sorted out one way or the other by then."

Flanagan did a good job in his first year in charge of Sligo, despite being appointed just at the start of the year and the Yeats County are keen for him to remain at the helm.
