Farrell hails Walsh decision

August 27, 2010
Sligo junior captain Jason Farrell believes that Kevin Walsh's decision to stay on at the helm was a major boost ahead of their All-Ireland triumph against Kerry last weekend.

The Connacht side picked up their first All-Ireland title since 1935 when the soundly defeated the Kingdom and Farrell, who was made captain after Mark Quinn failed to recover from injury stated that Walsh's decision to remain as manager was the lift they needed.

"Fair play to all the lads and credit to the management team. Kevin re-joining last week lifted everything at training and everything kicked off from there," said Farrell.

Sligo senior may not have the best of years, but with Walsh remaining and the county obtaining their first All-Ireland title in 75 years, optimism for 2011 is very high.
