Sligo manager Kevin Walsh will be hoping to end the year on a high as he bids to guide the Yeats County to All-Ireland JFC glory over Kerry this weekend.
The Sligo seniors had an acrimonious end to their year, which had promised so much early on, but the Galway native has agreed to stay in charge of the county for another term.
Walsh admits that the side have prepared very well for the final and that confidence was high in the squad, even though they go into the match as underdogs.
"We are really looking forward to the challenge. Sligo hasn't been to an All-Ireland final for a long, long time and it is great to be involved," said Walsh.
"Any All-Ireland final is important in its own right and of course we are hoping to win. I would expect they have some good players. Like ourselves they had to win four matches to get this far. While they have players from intermediate and junior clubs, clubs also amalgamate for senior club competitions. Therefore a lot of players do actually play senior championship football in Kerry."
