Relay Run to Croke Park for All Ireland Final 2010
Plans are continuing for the run from Kent Park to Croke Park starting on the evening of the 17th of September. We have been delighted with the response from prospective runners and can't accommodate any more. We would urge all club members to make a special effort in relation to the collection of sponsorship. The club would also like to thank the various newspaper and radio stations for the recent publicity. This event has really captured the imagination, not only in the northwest, but nationally. We hope that as many members of the community will run the first kilometer with us on the 17th so please put that date in your diary. We will include further information here as the build-up continues to the big day. Anyone seeking further information contact David Keane on 086 8367005 or Niall Murray on 087 2860239.

This invitation goes out to any parents, past players, Uncles, Aunts, brothers or sisters who want to get into coaching or just help out, please come along. You can join up on the day. Remember to get your membership fee paid asap as the jerseys sponsored by John Kent Sports are ordered and will be here in a couple of weeks.
Ladies: Good luck to the Under 12 Girls who begin the Championship on Thursday and the Under 14 Girls who start their Championship campaign on Tuesday. The Junior Team will take to the field on Sunday for the first adult Championship game played by the club for 4 years. Best wishes to them.
Minor: We play Ballymote/Bunninadden in the next Championship match in late August. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday at 7.30pm. We wish our U-16 county panelists well in the Manning Cup Final.
U-16: Our under 16 team have qualified for the under 16 A championship final with a comprehensive win over Shamrock Gaels at Coola last Saturday evening. This was an excellent overall team performance with a number of very good individual performances from Colm Egan, Seamie Cawley and Cian Breheny.
U-14: Well done to our under 14 footballers who won the inaugural county U-14 A 9-a-side blitz on Friday. The team defeated Coolaney/Mullinabreena, St. Molaise Gaels, Calry and St. John's in their group section thus qualifying for the final of the competition where they edged past Calry again. The under 14 season is now complete and the players can look back on a very prosperous year where they won Sligo Feile title, County League title, 9 a side blitz competition and were beaten in the Championship final by a point. Some of this panel are involved with the clubs U-16 team while others are young enough for the Sligo Feile competition 2011 which starts at the end of August.
Membership: Football membership for all Senior players is now overdue and is priced at €60 for adults and €40 for students/unemployed. Club membership is now due for all and is priced at €20 for general club membership and can be paid at the clubhouse.
Senior/Junior: Our youthful Junior team went down to a stronger St. John's outfit in the first round of the Junior A Championship on Sunday last. The match, played in ideal conditions in Markievicz Park, was a sporting affair with some great points kicked by both sides. We started slowly but then settled into the game and hit a great spell midway through the first half which saw some great scores from man of the match Brian O'Donnell and Glen Monaghan who kicked a magnificent five points on the day. With Mary's facing into a strong breeze in the second half St. John's took control of the game and despite some excellent scores from Daniel Lang, a goal midway through the second half was the decisive score in the game. In a very spirited, disciplined, battling performance our defence was well marshalled by Paul Leonard, David Hanly and Paul Curley. Minor keeper Paddy Brady gave an assured performance in goals while corner back Cian McKeon had one of his best ever games in a St. Mary's shirt. At midfield Stephen Hansberry had a superb game covering every inch of Markievicz and winning numerous kickouts. Up front Paddy McGowan, returning to the club colours this year, capped a good display with two excellent long range points. Training continues for the Junior team this week as they prepare to face St. Pat's and St. Molaise Gaels. The Senior Team open their Senior Championship campaign this Saturday evening at Kilcoyne Park, Tubbercurry, as they take on County Champions, Tourlestrane. The match throws in at 7.30pm and we ask all Club supporters to travel in numbers to get behind the team.
