Walsh says Sligo weren't "mentally right"

Sligo manager Kevin Walsh
Kevin Walsh admitted that Sligo weren't in the right frame of mind for Saturday's heavy All-Ireland qualifier loss to Down.
The Yeats County manager said his side weren't able to lift themselves so soon after losing the Connacht final to an unheralded Roscommon team six days earlier.
"It was definitely more mental than physical for us tonight," he said.
"The lads were naturally down after losing the Connacht final and it's very hard for players to get themselves mentally right for their next match just six days later.
"We tried as hard as we could to get the players right mentally, but that's not an easy task. I think the two games against Galway took an awful lot out of us and we didn't cope favourably with being overwhelming favourites for the Connacht final."
