Injured Harrison defiant
July 02, 2009
Injured Sligo football captain Charlie Harrison insists the Yeats County will be ready to roar in the Qualifiers.
The corner back is probably ruled out for the rest of the intercounty season after dislocating a shoulder during the narrow defeat to Galway on Sunday, but he's backing his team-mates to impress in the back-door section of the SFC:
"I'm sure the lads will be ready for the challenge of the Qualifiers," he says.
"We've put in a huge amount of effort all year and we owe it to ourselves and to Kevin Walsh and the management team to try to prolong our season.
"Kevin travels from Galway twice a week for training and his commitment to the job is enormous. That sort of effort deserves to be rewarded, so we'll do our best to get over this disappointment and go out and have a real go in the Qualifiers.
"To go so close and lose out in injury time was a sickening blow, but I'm sure we can bounce back."
