Mulvihill rocks 'castle

Garrycastle's Paddy Mulvihill gains possession against Longford Slashers in the Leinster club SFC.
Westmeath outfit Garrycastle have been rocked by the sensational news that top forward Paddy Mulvihill is seeking a transfer to Roscommon kingpins St Brigid's.

Mulvihill has been an integral part of the Garrycastle side for over a decade now winning six-county and one Leinster title, while playing a big part in the South Westmeath side's victory over the Kiltoom outfit in the 2012 All-Ireland club SFC semi final.

The Westmeath Independent reports that a Croke Park official confirmed that the transfer had been granted, but Garrycastle would not comment on the matter when contacted by the Provincial paper.

A Croke Park official states: "At the moment the transfer has been granted and will be confirmed once St Brigid's register the player as a club member."

The loss of such a talented footballer, who has represented Westmeath at all levels down through the year will be a huge blow to Garrycastle as they seek to regain the county title, they last won in 2011.
