Dublin 2-17
Offaly 0-13

Dublin opened their Leinster MHC campaign with a convincing 10-point victory over Offaly at Parnell Park today.

Second half goals from Eoghan Dunne and Gavin King broke the Faithful County's brave resistance and Johnny McGuirk's charges ran out convincing winners in the end.

It was a different story at the beginning, however, as the Joe Errity managed Offaly, who defeated Carlow by 1-19 to 0-10 two weeks ago, raced into a 0-4 to 0-0 lead before Mark Maguire got the eventual winners off the mark.

Dublin overcame their slow start to go in at the break with a slender 0-8 to 0-7 lead and they pulled away after the resumption.

Dunne's 51st minute goal put the game beyond Offaly's reach and full-forward King applied the gloss to the young Metropolitan's success when netting a second goal three minutes from time.
