Opponents don't surprise Shortt

St Rynagh's captain Dermot Shortt is not surprised by who they are facing in Sunday's county SHC final.

Three in a row chasing Kilcormac/Killoughey stand in the way of a first county title for St Rynagh's since 1993.

Shortt admitted to the Midland Tribune that it was no surprise to see the defending champions back in yet another final.

"It's no surprise really that we are playing Kilcormac/Killoughey. They have really kicked on in the last two years and Danny Owens has them well drilled," said Shortt.

"We are looking forward to the task and hopefully we will put it up to them and give a good account of ourselves. Both teams have played fairly well. I don't think we have been really tested. We expected a bit more from Clareen in the semi-final but they fell apart in the second half."
