SFC Ballycumber 1-13 Erin Rovers 0-10
The Seniors recorded their second win of the campaign with a convincing six point over their neighbours in Doon on Saturday last. The game was started with a high intensity with scoring chances for both sides. The sides were level at two points apiece before Ballycumber began to gain control around the middle of the field. The crucial turning point came about eight minutes before half time where Peter Flynn saved a goal bound shot and the resulting play saw Nigel Grennan burst forward and finishing to the net at the other end. This well finished goal opened up a gap and Ballycumber were never in trouble thereafter.
Team: Peter Flynn, Richard Dunne, Nigel Grennan, Alan Flanagan, Colin Daly, Karl Daly, Declan Daly, Diarmuid Daly, Brian Halligan, Keith Lawlor, Conor Robbins, Colm Quinn, Rory Guinan, Fergal Daly and Adrian Kelly. Sub used: Ger Egan and Ciaran Grennan.
JFC'B' Ballycumber 0-11 Durrow 1-04
The Juniors made sure of their qualification from the group with a well merited four point win in durrow on Friday last. In truth the team made it quite hard for themselves as numerous scoring chances were missed. But there is a noticeable spirit about this team who pushed on and scored the last five points of the game to seal the victory.
Team: John O'Brien, Ollie Murray, Stephen Keena, Colm Kelly, Dessie Daly, Chris McDonald, Eddie Larkin, Paul Kelly, Michael Egan, Nicholas Egan, Sean Hackett, Andrew Grennan, Peter Dunne, Lorcan Halligan and Simon Casey. Subs used: John Egan, Stephen Quinn and Dermot Egan.
JFC'B' Ballycumber 1-08 St Rynagh's 1-08
The Juniors fought back well from a half time deficit of 1-07 to 0-02 to claim a hard fought draw with poor conditions in Ballycumber. The team never quite got going in the first half but they never lay down and applied huge pressure after the turn around. In the end the game could have gone either way but the home team has to be pleased with their second half performance.
Team: John O'Brien, Ollie Murray, Vinny Minnock, Colm Kelly, Dessie Daly, Chris McDonald, Eddie Larkin, Paul Kelly, Michael Egan, Nicholas Egan, Sean Hackett, Andrew Grennan, Peter Dunne, Lorcan Halligan and John Egan. Subs used: Aaron Daly, Stephen Quinn and Dermot Egan.
