Birr at centre of another appeals row
August 13, 2010
Just when the dust has settled on the Birr/Crinkle row, the town team are embroiled in another disagreement, but this time it involves members of their own club.
A few weeks back the club suspended the management of their under-16 football team for fielding an ineligible player in a championship match against St Vincent's.
The management team of John Ryan, Liam Broderick and Tony Sampson were handed a 26-week suspension by the Birr club, but the men brought their case to the Offaly GAA Hearings Committee, where their appeal was successful.
However, the club have now decided to appeal that decision to the Leinster Council as the matter drags on for another while.
