INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Raheen Intermediate Footballers maintained their 100% record in all competitive games throughout this year and in doing so made it 2 wins out of 2 in the Championship as they came out on top against championship favourites St Rynaghs last Tuesday evening in O'Connor Park on a scoreline of 0-13 to 0-09. Raheen opened the scoring with a point inside the first minute, a lead they never lost throughout the game but after a few missed chances they added a second point in the 12th minute. Over the next 5 minutes St Rynaghs got off the mark and drew level with 2 points in a row. The remaining 13 minutes of the half saw Raheen build up a lead as they sent over 4 points without reply before St Rynaghs added 2 points just before the end of the half to narrow the lead and so at the break Raheen led by 0-06 to 0-04. Inside the first minute of the second half Raheen gave away a free which St Rynaghs sent over. This spurned Raheen into action as over the next 10 minutes they fired over 4 points in a row which would prove to be the difference between the sides at the end, the first from a 45" and 2 frees. The final 20 minutes of the game was well balanced with both sides finishing with 3 points apiece with all 3 for Raheen coming from play and so Raheen maintained their 4 point margin to claim the win.

RAHEEN: Mark Byrne, Cathal Maher, Brian Kehoe, Ciaran Coughlan, Brian Corcoran, Conor Carroll, Liam Boland, Mark Gorman, Padraig Bracken, Shane Carroll, Damien Arnold, Danny McEvoy, Colin McHugh, Paddy Rigney, John Crombie.

JUNIOR B FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Raheen Junior Footballers gained their 3rd Championship win a row after receiving a walkover from Doon who were unable to field a side for their scheduled encounter last Saturday evening.

INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Raheen Intermediate Footballers chalked up their second Championship win within the space of 5 days last Sunday evening in Ballycomman as they saw off the challenge of the side relegated from senior ranks last year Shannonbridge on a scoreline of 2-08 to 0-12 therby maintaining their 100% record. Raheen got off to a flyer of a start as within the first 10 minutes they fired over 5 points all from play to which Shannonbridge got off the mark with 2 points. The next 15 minutes was a much more tepid affair with both sides adding just 2 points apiece. In the 27th minute a 30m free for Raheen out on the sideline was lobbed into the square where it was punched straight to the net for the opening goal. This proved to be the final score of the half and so Raheen went in to the break with what appeared to be a comfortable lead of 1-07 to 0-04. Shannonbridge came out a much improved side in the second half and within the first 10 minutes they shot over 4 points without reply to reduce the deficit to 2 points with all bar one from frees. In the 17th minute Raheen managed to put together a complete end to end passage of play for probably the only time of half and when they worked the ball into the square it was blasted low underneath the diving keeper to the net for Raheen's second goal to give them a bit of breathing space but this was wiped out over the next 10 minutes with Shannonbridge adding another 3 points without reply. In the first minute of stoppage time Raheen registered their only point of the second half but a minute later Shannonbridge sent over what proved to be their final point and over the further 4 minutes of injury time played Raheen managed to hold out to claim the win which puts them right on course to claim a spot in the quarter finals.

U16 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna U16 Footballers had to settle for a draw in their final group match of their Championship campaign against Rhode in Geashill last Saturday morning on a scoreline of 2-09 apiece. Rhode opened the scoring with a pointed free in the 4th minute but over the next 5 minutes Na Fianna got off the mark with 3 points in a row from Shane Hyland, Luke Dunne and Richie Reynolds. In the 11th minute Rhode had a chance to re-take the lead when they were awarded a penalty but the shot was sent wide and Na Fianna added a point a few minutes later from Niall Dempsey. In the 19th minute a move from the Na Fianna defence saw the ball worked upfield into the square where Ronan Crombie was on hand to blast the ball to the net for Na Fianna's opening goal but Rhode responded with a point with a minute which proved to be the final score of the half and so at the break Na Fianna led by 1-04 to 0-02. Rhode were forced to play the second half with just 14 players following the withdrawl of their centre forward at the break and without any subs to bring on. Na Fianna added 2 points inside the first 2 minutes of the second half from Shane Hyland and Richie Reynolds before scoring their second goal in the 8th minute when a shot from Ben Ridgeway from about 35m out dipped over the head over the keeper to the net. Na Fianna who now led by 10 points became complacent and over the next 15 minutes Rhode came right back into the game as they scored 1-06 to which Na Fianna replied with just a single point from Niall Dempsey. In the 25th minute Rhode were awarded a second penalty but this time they made no mistake as the ball was dispatched to the net for their second goal to go in front. Over the next 3 minutes Na Fianna responded with 2 points from Ronan Crombie and Richie Reynolds to go back in front but into stoppage time Rhode were awarded a 20m free and with the last kick of the game they sent it over to draw level. Unfortunately the result was not enough for Na Fianna to progress to the semi-finals and so their campaign comes to an end having gone unbeaten for the second half of that campaign.

NA FIANNA: Adam Kinahan, Dean Pierce, Mikey Keogh, Mikey Pender, Fergus Flood, Jonathan Byrne, Ben Ridgeway (1-00) , Luke Dunne (0-01), Richie Reynolds (0-03), Ronan Crombie (1-01), Niall Dempsey (0-02), Shane Hyland (0-02), Jason Dunne, Liam Guinan, Aaron Pierce.

U14 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Na Fianna U14 Footballers suffered a defeat in their final Championship match of the group stage against Shamrocks last Monday evening in Mucklagh on a scoreline of 3-12 to 0-13, a result which brings an end to Na Fianna's championship campaign for this year. Shamrocks opened the scoring with a point inside the first minute. The next 10 minutes saw the sides match each other scoring 4 points apiece with the Na Fianna efforts from Shane Dolan (2), Dylan Hyland and Mikey Feery. In the 15th Minute Shamrocks pulled ahead as they scored their 1st goal when a goalmouth scramble saw the ball trickle into the net. This spurned Na Fianna into action as over the remaining 15 minutes of the half they shot over 5 points from Dylan Hyland, Jack O'Brien, Shane Dolan (2) and Mark McNally to which Shamrocks replied with 2 points. During this time Na Fianna keeper Kevin Kinahan made 2 splendid saves to keep his side in the game. This saw Na Fianna go into the break trailing by just a single point 1-07 to 0-09 and they drew level within 15 seconds of the restart with a point from Shane Doan. This would be as good as it got for Na Fianna with the following 20 minutes seeing Shamrocks getting through to score 1-05 to which Na Fianna replied with 2 points from Dylan Hyland. With Na Fianna having to push forward Shamrocks took advantage of the free space at the back to get in to score their 3rd goal with 5 minutes remaining. Na Fianna did get the final score with a point from Colin McDermott in the last minute but it was to be only a consolation score.

NA FIANNA: Kevin Kinahan, Ben Dunne, Barry Kealey, Jamie Conroy, Kevin Beirne, James Lalor, Niall Lynch, Mark Garry, Clint Horan, Mark McNally (0-01), Dylan Hyland (0-04), Mikey Feery (0-01), Jack O'Brien (0-01), Colin McDermott (0-01), Shane Dolan (0-05).
