The first 15 minutes were evenly contested with both sides getting off the mark with 3 points apiece, the Raheen scores from Jason Hassett, Conor Dunne and Paddy Rigney. Coolderry then got going hitting over 2 points before scoring their first goal in the 22nd minute when a free in midfield was lobbed in high towards goal where it was blocked well by Raheen keeper Padraig Direen only to fall into the path of the Coolderry player who pulled on it to the net and they added another point a minute later. Raheen did hit back with 2 more points without reply from Cathal Maher and Jason Hassett before halftime and went into the break trailing by 0-05 to 1-06. Raheen were first off the mark in the second half with a point from a 65 scored by Paddy Rigney inside the first minute. Any hope of a comeback by Raheen were well a truly quashed over the next 10 minutes as Coolderry scored 2-02 with both goals coming from shots across the square to the corner of the net. During this time Raheen's sole reply was a pointed free from Jason Hassett. Raheen then added 2 more points from Jason Hassett and Paddy Rigney in the 5 minutes after the mid point of the half which were replied to by a single point for Coolderry. Then in the 22nd minute Raheen were finally rewarded with a goal when following a goal mouth scramble Brian Kennedy blasted his shot along the ground to the net which reduced the deficit to 6 points but this would prove to be their last score of the game.
