Monaghan manager Malachy O'Rourke stressed that they are focused on what they have to do, but are taking each game as it comes.

Chants of 'We want Sam' rang round Clones last Sunday evening after Monaghan had claimed their second Ulster SFC title in three years.

Nonetheless, O'Rourke stressed to the Northern Standard that they have plenty of areas to improve before they could even start thinking of an All-Ireland final.

"It was a great response by the supporters but as for the 'We want Sam' chant, we don't pass any remarks on that," said O'Rourke.

"The boys are very focused. We are not bothered about people  voicing aspirations of that nature, although at the same time, it is great because if supporters don't have expectations it could be a sign that they don't believe in the lads.

"There are plenty of things we need to improve on and if we are going to go forward we will have to get grounded again and start working towards the quarterfinal."
