Matthew McKenna says Monaghan's poor league form will have no bearing on Sunday.
Monaghan surrendered their Division One status during the Spring but Inniskeen clubman McKenna reckons they have since moved on and can start with a clean slate against Antrim in Clones this weekend:
"First of all, we needed to look at ourselves as players, more so than anything, because the preparation by Eamonn [McEneaney] and the backroom team was second to none," the wing forward says in The Irish News.
"We fiddled a bit with the tactics, we had a lot of injuries which made it hard to get a settled team and that put us on the back foot going into a lot of the games. But since then we have adapted.
"The biggest problem was we did not have a settled team. But we have players back, we have got over that, and I think we're getting to a strong position to drive on against Antrim.
"We looked at what we needed to improve on and we've worked on that and I now think we are in a good position to push on, hopefully take care of Antrim and, in doing that, get ourselves into an Ulster semi-final.
"We know Antrim are a good side. Tactically they are very sound. They play a blanket defence type game and we have looked at their tactics, moved things around, and we know where we're going to try and get at them."
