C'BLAYNEY SCHOOL THROUGH TO ULSTER LADIES SEMI FINAL
Our Lady's Sec School qualified for their first Ulster senior semi final since 2007 when they produced an impressive performance to defeat Baileborough on a score line of 6-9 to 1-3 in their quarter final meeting on Friday last. The foundations for the victory were built around a dominant mid-field display from Emyvale's Alanagh O'Donaghue, whose fielding was a feature of the game. Ciara Farrell opened the scoring with a goal in the 6th minute and she added another goal in the 10th minute, at this stage the C'Blayney girls were dominant and added further scores from Jacinta Brannigan, Aoife Duffy and Michelle Kerr who rifled the ball to the Cavan girls net after good work from Megan Atkinson. Baileborough completed the scoring in the first half with a goal and a point to leave the half time score Our Lady's 3-4, Baileborough 1-2. The game was effectively ended after half time when the excellent Aoife Duffy hit the net following a good pass from Ciara Farrell and Alanagh O'Donaghue added another goal. Michelle Kerr, Micheala McQuaid and Jacinta Brannigan added further scores to leave the C'Blayney girls comfortable winners.
