Clontibret
Minor Championship Final
Minor Champions Again   Clontibret 0-19, Latton 0-6. Well done to the minor lads and their managers, Cathal and Mickey on bringing the Fergal O'Hanlon Cup for  the Minor Championship back to Clontibret again.
It turned out to be somewhat easier than expected as the Latton challenge fizzled out in the second half but all the disappointments that this bunch of lads have had to endure since under 12 were exorcised in Ballybay on Sunday evening last as they made sure there was no way back for their gallant opponents.
This was a terrific all round team display littered with gems of individual excellence, including Eoin McGuigan's Man of the Match display on the 40, Conor Boyle's three first half points against the wind and the run of play, Ryan McGuigan's cameo at the end yielding three points after the disappointment of not being able to start with an injured arm, and Captain David Savage's inspiring leadership up front. A year to remember for these young players and we look forward to seeing many of them in action in higher grades as the year progresses

Senior Championship
We take on Magheracloone in the quarter final of the senior championship on Sunday in Aughnamullen at 3pm. Good luck to the team and management.

Senior League
Clontibret 0-08, Latton 1-08. We lost out to Latton by a goal in a disappointing encounter on Saturday evening last. This puts pressure on us to get results in the two remaining league games.

Reserve League Division 3 Final
Clontibret 0-10, Ballybay 1-11. We started well in the Reserve League division 3 final on Wednesday evening last to go 3 points up, but a Ballybay goal midway through the first half proved to be the decisive score in the game and we failed to take the lead again. Three points down at half time the game was still there for the taking, despite finishing strongly we failed to get the necessary scores in the end that would have made the difference. Well done to this team and management for their whole hearted efforts throughout the year. Many of the players on this team have been asked to play at three different levels of adult football over the course of the year and have been the backbone of our Reserve Division 1 team and Senior team on numerous occasions.

U12 Final
Clontibret 2-16, Corduff 5-06. In an epic battle in Cremartin our u12s overcame the challenge of a brave Corduff team and held out for a one point victory to claim the Division 2 Cup. It was a classic encounter with some excellent scores, and while Corduff had the upper hand in the early quarters the Clontibret boys put in a grandstand finish in the final quarter to overturn a three point deficit and take a four point lead going into injury time. A close range Corduff free found the net with nearly three minutes played but our boys gained control and brought the ball up the field to secure the victory. Crucial to the victory was the move of Jack Gormley from corner forward to half back to mark Corduff sharp shooter Fergal Hanratty, while the performances of Darren Mohan and Daniel McDonald at the back were also outstanding, with excellent support from Dean Brennan, Vinnie Coyle and our dual goalkeepers on the day, Jamie McMahon and Tiernan McQuaid. Joint captains Michael Savage and Dara Hughes directed operations from the middle, while up front the accuracy of Dean McDonald, Dean McGuigan and Eli Ward enabled us to get the crucial scores, helped by the input of Christopher McDermott, Aaron McGuigan and Ross Lowey. Many congratulations to all the boys and their managers Jonathan McGuigan, Des Brennan, Liam Swift and Eugene McGuigan who have shown tremendous dedication and leadership in bringing these young boys on from the beginning of the year. As Pauric Sherry said when he presented the cup to joint captains Michael and Dara, we fully expect some of these young players to be helping Clontibret to senior championship success within the next decade.

U14 Final
We play Seans in the league final on Saturday at 2.45pm in Drumhowan. Please come and cheer the boys on. Best of luck to all involved.

U10s
Well done to the boys who competed in a very competitive tournament in Pearse Og's on Saturday. The boys played 6 games in the competition and with the standards being very high the boys showed that they could compete against their Ulster rivals. Thanks to the management team who went down on the day. After the good showing the boys have been invited to play in the prestigious Clan Eireann tournament in a few weeks. More details next week.

Thanks to all who helped during the year and it was great to see new coaches come on board. A special thanks to Owen Joe and Martin who put in a lot of work and the year would not have gone as smoothly without the contributions of these two. We hope to see you all again next year.
