Freeman to appear before CAC tonight

Monaghan's Tommy Freeman
Tommy Freeman's latest appeal against his eight-week suspension will be heard by the Central Appeals Committee (CAC) tonight.
The former All-Star corner forward faces an anxious wait to find out if he will be able to line out in Saturday's All-Ireland qualifier against Armagh in Clones.
Monaghan manager Seamus McEnaney and chairman John Connolly have both expressed their frustration at the fact that the saga is still not resolved. Freeman received the suspension in the wake of Monaghan's Ulster SFC quarter-final loss to Derry on May 24.
"He will have his appeal on Tuesday, if that fails, there is the DRA before the weekend. So there is a few rounds to go yet," McEnaney said.
"The most disappointing part of it is that we are five-and-a-half weeks into his suspension and it's not sorted yet. We feel there has not been a level playing field here."
Connolly blasted: "Tommy has been messed about, mucked around for the last few weeks. Hopefully, if justice is done, we will have him. As time has gone on, he can't train and is not allowed to take part."
