SUMMER CAMPS.
The 2009 Monaghan GAA VHI sponsored Cul Camps summer programme got underway this week with camps running simultaneously in Carrickmacross and Threemilehouse. Paul O'Connor reported that numbers were down a little on last year but he is still confident that with the programme of activities that is being offered that the camps will sustain the level of popularity that they have enjoyed over the years. All of the camps cater for football, hurling and camogie with handball figuring in the camps in Carrickmacross, Monaghan and Emyvale. There is also a special hurling/camogie camp in Cloghan running in Week 4 from July 20th to July 24th.
The full programme of camps is as follows.
Week 2: July 6th to July 10th Camps in Castleblayney and Clontibret,
Week 3. July 13th to July 17th camps in Carrickmacross and Ballybay
Week 4. July 20th to July 24th Camps in Scotstown and and a special hurling camp in Cloghan.

Parents should not that it is possible to register for any camp up to the starting time of that camp, none of the camps are booked out as yet.
DEVELOPMENT SQUADS.
Most coaching and work with Development Squad is on hold during the school holidays
but there a day of blitz type activity for 14-year-old boys will be held in Cloghan in the next couple of weeks. Clubs will be contacted with more specific details regarding this exercise which Paul O'Connor sees as important, and clubs should endeavour to support as this blitz will be used as one means of identifying talent for the development squads going forward.
