FIXTURES.
With the county minor and senior football teams in action on Saturday there is very little by way of club activity over the weekend with the action confined to a round of matches in the reserve football league divisions 3 and 4 on Sunday evening.
Monday next July 6th however sees the start of the 2009 U21 football league with two games in division 1, 3 games in division 2, one in the North section and two in the South section as well as two games in division 3. The U21 league has has a chequered history in Monaghan so this one will be closely monitored to try and assess whether that grade has real future or not in club competition in the county. Tuesday next also sees a return to action in the minor football league with a full round of matches in all three divisions. Wednesday next, July 8th sees a full round of matches in the senior, intermediate and junior football leagues but should Monaghan advance in the All Ireland Qualifiers this Saturday then those games will become Star Games.
There is one previously unplayed game, a Star game, in the Credit Union senior football league listed for Sunday between Magheracloone Carrickmacross was a starting time yet to be confirmed,
RESERVE LEAGUES.
In the reserve football league division 3 on Sunday Emyvale are at home to Aughnamullen, Aghabog are away at Clontibret, Ballybay play hosts to Scotstown, Corduff face a lengthy journey to Truagh and its a very local affair in Threemilehouse between Sean McDermotts and Eire Og with all games timed for 7 p.m..
In the reserve football league division 4, also on Sunday Oram are at home to Castleblayney, Currin face a lengthy journey to Killanny, Toome play a Fergal O'Hanlons and Monaghan Harps are away at Rockcorry, again all for a 7 p.m. start.
MC QUILLAN STAIRCASES UNDER 21 FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
Monday next, July 6th sees the start of the McQuillan staircases sponsored under 21 league. In division one Castleblayney are at home against Truagh while Monaghan Harps travel to Scotstown. In division two North Sean McDermotts are at home against Emyvale with Finn Gael having a bye while in Division 2 South Carrickmacross are away at Aughnamullen and Cremartin are at home to Donaghmoyne.
In division 3 Inniskeen have home advantage over Magheracloone and Tyholland travel to Rockcorry. All games on Monday evening are timed for 8.00pm.
MINOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE.
With the Junior and Leaving Certificate examinations completed and Monaghan's semi-final in the Ulster minor football championship against Armagh also completed it is a return to action in the Boyle and Curran sponsored minor football league on Tuesday next July 7th.
In division 1 Aughnamullen are at home to Castleblyaney, Monaghan Harps are away at Donaghmoyne, St. Patricks play Scotstown in Ballybay and Latton are away against Truagh, all at 8 p.m..
In division 2 Emerald Sarsfields take on Sean McDermotts in Blackhill, Patrick Emmets travel to Killanny, Na Mullai Sarsfields meet Cuchulainns in Killeevan, Clontibret are away at Emyvale and Cremartin have home advantage over Carrickmacross, all again at 8.00p.m..
In division 3 Corduff travel to Clones, Tyholland play hosts to Magheracloone and Inniskeen are away at Rockcorry, again for an 8.00p.m. start.

In the Credit Union senior football league on Wednesday next July 8th Truagh have home advantage over Castleblayney, Carrickmacross are away against Latton, Clontibret have home advantage over Magheracloone, Ballybay meet Doohamlet in what is a very local affair and Inniskeen travel to Scotstown, all for 8 p.m.

In the Conlon Coach Hire intermediate football league Rockcorry are at home against Eire Og, Drumhowan travel to Corduff, Donaghmoyne have home advantage over Monaghan Harps, Aughnamullen are away against Tyholland and Cremartin play hosts to Aghabog, again all for an 8.00pm start.

In the Gerry's Fresh Fruit & Veg junior football league Currin play Sean McDermotts in Scotshouse, Blackhill travel to Killeevan, Oram are away at Emyvale and Killanny have home advantage over Toome, again all for 8.00pm.
