Fixtures: Credit Union League: Our seniors are away to Blaney on Wednesday 1st July at 8pm Reserve League Div 1: Our B team is at home to Magheracloone on Saturday 27th June at 7pm. Reserve League Div 3: Our C team is at home to Emyvale on Monday 29th June at 8pm. Minors: Our minor team were out last Tuesday against Truagh. U21s: The U21 competition is due to start on Monday 6th July, with Truagh, Blaney & Monaghan Harps in our Division. Seniors: Our seniors travelled to Inniskeen last Friday and came home with two valuable points on a 2-8 to 1-9 scoreline. A Darren Hughes penalty on 27mins set them up with a 1-7 to 4pt half time lead. Inniskeen narrowed the gap and left just a point between the sides after 49min (1-8 to 1-7). Then a Nicholas Corrigan goal on 51mins put Scotstown 4 ahead with a well work goal, involving Darren Hughes, Emmett Caulfield & Mark Mc Devitt. Phillip Maguire took off some fine saves towards the end of the match to deny Inniskeen a 2nd goal, ably assisted by Eddie Beggan who played well at full back. Scorers: Nicholas Corrigan (1-1), Kieran Hughes (0-4), Darren Hughes (1-0), Mark Mc Devitt (0-3). Reserve League Div 3: Our C team had a 4pt win over Eire Og on Sunday last. Scorers: Emmett Mc Crudden (0-5), Gavin Turley (0-2), Niall Mc Carville (0-1), Dara Stirratt (0-1), Adrian Carbin (0-1). Juveniles: U12s: Div 1 Shield Final: Well done to our U12s on winning the Div 1 shield final on Monday last. In a tight & entertaining game, Emyvale pushed our young lads right to the end. Jamie Mc Carey opens the scoring with a point, Emyvale level matters on 3mins. Conor Mohan restored Scotstown's lead a minute later. Emyvale went ahead on 8mins by 3pts to 2. Then a goal on 12mins by Jamie Mc Carey put them in front 1-2 to 3pts. Emyvale came storming back with a goal and a point to lead 1-4 to 1-2 on 15mins. Points from Leonard Mc Dermott & Conor Mohan had the sides level at 1-4 each on 17mins. Scotstown turned things around as half time approach with two points from Jake Ward & a Leonard point to give them a half time lead of 1-7 to 1-5. Emyvale also hit the crossbar at the end of the first half. Adrian Grew & Leonard registered the opening scores of the second half, Emyvale hit back with two points. Then Scotstown extended this lead to 5pts on 33mins with scores from Conor Mohan, Leonard & Brian Treanor to go 1-12 to 1-7 ahead. Emyvale reduced the deficit to make it 1-12 to 1-9 on 44mins. Our young lads had to sustain plenty of pressure in the closing minutes with Emyvale making 3 attempts on scoring a goal but in the end our defence stood firm, which they eventually broke away & Conor Mohan was on hand to slot home a goal, this was followed by a point from Leonard to end the game on a final score of 2-13 to 1-9. Credit to the management team of Gary Mc Quaid, John Meehan, Eddie Murphy & Paddy Sherlock in achieving this success with this U12 side.
