Emyvale notes

Emyvale Kevin Donnelly - An appreciation It was with great shock and sadness that the news of the untimely passing of Kevin Donnelly came through to the people of Emyvale last Wednesday evening. A true and dedicated gael, Kevin made the short hop across Middletown bridge several times each week to coach and manage the Emyvale Ladies team. He was an integral part of the team, there through good and bad, success and failure. The recent taking of the intermediate county championship title among the latest triumphs. He had the utmost respect for his players, team mentors and fellow club members and his spirit and legacy will live on in the girls. We extend our deepest sympathy and keep in our thoughts Kevin's wife Concepta, his son Shane and daughter Pamela and their extended family on their very sad loss. Go ndeanai Dia trocaire ar do anam, Caoimhin. Emyvale Seniors: Our senior side were defeated in the championship by Donaghmoyne on Saturday night (see match report). This result confirms our relegation to junior football for next season. There remains one final league game this year against Donaghmoyne. Good luck: Best of look to the county ladies. We are well represented on the panel and we wish all the girls the best of luck particularly after such a tragic week. Sam Maguire: The Sam Maguire passed through Emyvale on its way to Tyrone on Monday. Again, it was nice to see the Tyrone players and mentors stopping in Emyvale to acknowledge the support they received from many in north Monaghan. McElroy-Connolly Memorial Competition The McElroy-Connolly Memorial Competition kicks off on Friday night at 7pm in St. Oliver Plunkett Park.
