Team to be announced next tuesday any thoughts on which (if any) Meath men will be part of Boylan's babes??
Geraghty and B Murphy. I really think P Byrne would excell at this game(great speed on the ball) but he's not known well enough to be considered.

.....

does anyone know if any Meath lads were training with the Int. rules panel lately ?
I know they were in Dunboyne recently.

Would have thought Mark Ward or Joe Sheridan would have been suited to it.

I'm sure Sean Boylan might know who he is.

I can't see too many of the current panel getting into the starting 15 but the fact that it is in Australia means it will be the best 15 that can travel and with Sean in charge I'm sure he'd have a few of the Meath lads in the panel

Boylan might pick 2 or 3 Meath players out of loyalty but to be honest i don't think theres any meath players out there thats worth they're spot. If he is going to pick any id guess Mark Ward, Brendan Murphy or Kevin Really, simply because they're big lads.

Kevin Reilly,Anthony Moyles,Stephen Bray and David Gallagher are the only Meath players training with Ireland but not too sure where they'll stand when the panel is announced. Maybe Moyles or Gally in goals but thats about it.

dunboyne's david gallagher looks like hes going to be going to australia as the number one goalkeeper. have to say i completely agree with boylan on gallagher's selection because the man is a huge and would take some beating from any aussie!!!!!

How do Kevin Reilly and Stephen Bray expect to be involved with Ireland when their club will need them for a county final and (and thats a big and) if they succeed in bucking the trend of recent years a possible run in the leinster club championships ?

It's a joke of a game and made even more so by Gallagher going to trials, he's not on the Meath Panel.
Only Sean Boylan could come up with this. Mickey Harte is right about this game and then Boylan goes and picks Cavanagh as captain to rub his nose in it...

Cavanagh is going on the trip for a holiday like the rest of them, wonder how many will get injuries out there during training before the games start!!!

NMM, There's no rule to say you have to be an intercounty player to get picked. It's a great honour to be picked for Ireland. Look at Noel Roche from Clare, who had ever heard of him before he was picked for the rules series all those years ago or that chap Fagan from Westmeath. Both excelled fpt Ireland
