A new kind of home

Alcrete Ltd. located in Kill, Co Kildare is a big supporter of Meath GAA. Contracts manager Colin Dalton, who resides in Dunboyne, gave Royal County 2007 an insight into this exciting new company, which is revolutionising the Irish construction industry. As Alcrete is part of the Menolly Group of companies it enjoys strong ties with Meath GAA. The Menolly Group is the main sponsor of Meath GAA and is, of course, Ireland's largest domestic builder of new homes. Menollys have developed over 20,000 units since Seamus Ross established the company 30 years ago and the company also holds a strong international portfolio. For the past three years, Alcrete Ltd. has been changing the face of the Irish construction industry, offering a cost-effective and speedy solution to homebuilding and removing much of the hassle and hardship from what is traditionally a stressful and arduous process. Manufacturing precast concrete panel frames to exact specifications, Alcrete offers a solution with so many benefits, that demand for the Alcrete House is nothing short of phenomenal. By forming a new company specifically to manufacture precast concrete walls and floors for the construction industry, Menolly Homes enabled itself to complete projects more efficiently and faster than before. Alcrete is located within twenty miles of Dublin city, off the new three-lane N7 motorway, at Arthurstown, just outside the picturesque village of Kill in Co. Kildare. This location provides easy access to all major routes, towns and city locations. The Alcrete plant comprises a 125,000 sq ft manufacturing facility on a site of approx 13.5 acres. At this new bespoke, fully-automated production facility, Alcrete produces a complete range of precast concrete building components, marrying the most technologically advanced equipment in the world with state-of-the-art robotics. Contained within this facility is a fully automated concrete formwork, reinforcing, concrete placing, curing and self cleaning technology. Sand and aggregate raw materials are supplied by Alcrete's own sand and gravel pit which is in close proximity to the manufacturing facility. Alcretes service is complete, covering each and every aspect of precast concrete products, from design, manufacturing and testing through to installation on site. Taking advantage of a growing trend for off-site construction, Alcrete designs, supplies and erects a range of precast products. Using the latest design and manufacturing techniques, the company produces high quality finished components in shorter production times. The Alcrete system is a unique, highly-innovative process at the very cutting edge of precision technology. The world class production system, which operates on the same principles as an automotive assembly line, is the only facility of its kind in Ireland, providing an unsurpassed service in terms of speed, precision and quality, resulting in significant cost savings. A precise measure of accuracy - down to the last millimeter - ensures that original architect drawings are replicated unerringly in precast concrete. The Alcrete process ensures improved project planning and management, which results in a higher level of coordination between engineers, main contractors and clients. Close collaboration from the design through to planning phase allows for optimum creativity and efficiency and facilitates swift problem solutions. This in turn offers a high level of security to the contractor, limiting the number of possible complaints in relation to the structure. The inherent benefits of precast concrete make it the best choice for many projects. The Alcrete solution offers up to 20% reduction in the overall period of time spent on site. Furthermore, there is also a substantial reduction in the number of individual contractors needed on site and no scaffolding is required as the units are erected by crane. Builders also benefit from a considerable reduction in waste and a safer working environment. As Alcrete's elements are manufactured in a precise factory environment, the result is of a quality and consistency that cannot be matched using traditional on-site methods. Fast production, delivery and erection saves time and money and gives a quicker return on investments. The creative dimensions of shape, texture, colour and pattern produce attractive buildings. Durability means unsurpassed low maintenance and life-time cost effectiveness. Sound proofing and fire proofing are to the highest standards, but above all, Alcrete builds better, faster, in a safer working environment The Alcrete House: The Alcrete House is designed to deliver a weathered building in the minimum amount of time. Alcrete can provide precast walls; precast or timber first floors; precast stairs; a truss roof or insulated roof panel; a precast chimney system. The Alcrete House offers numerous advantages in terms of speed and availability, cost effectiveness and safety. The Alcrete House is also a winner in terms of energy efficiency, fireproofing and sound insulation. The Alcrete House can be assembled within a 24 hours on site timeframe. Due to factory precision, windows, door and service opes are formed to mm accuracy. There are no delays due to weather and no mess on site while foundation costs are reduced and no drying out period is required. Alcrete has the expertise, the products and the desire to make a meaningful contribution to the planning and completion of any project.
