A late major from Ballivor robbed Drumconrath of both points in this entertaining IFC clash. Drumconrath 1-10 Ballivor 1-10 Drumconrath opened brighlty with a Stephan Crosby point but for the most of the 1st half seemed to struggle to hold onto Ballivors coat tails. Points from the heavily strapped Paddy Reilly and Ollie McMahon had the teams level after 15 mins at 0-3 each but Ballivor seemed to gain the upperhand on the breaking ball around the middle but Austin Hickeys 3 points kept Drums within touching distance as Ballivor tagged on 5 points to led by 2 at the break. Paddy Reilly had now departed the scene as he twisted his already injured knee on the bumpy Kells pitch. An early 2nd half Ballivor point and it looked like the trend of the 1st half would continue but another Hickey point stemmed the tide. Stephan Crosby was fouled in the square but Pete McMahon poorly hit penalty bounced wide and it seemed the writing was on the wall for the Reds but strong character was shown and a good long range free from Leighton Irwin gave Drums good hope and when McMahon scored a well worked goal and Alan Byrne hit a point from play Drumconraths tails where up. Ballivor pointed on a rare attack but Paul Tighe point to keep a goal between the sides. Kevin Flanagan was unlucky to see red on 52 minutes but Drumconrath seemed in control but some wayward shooting let them down. A good Paul Tighe effort in injury time bounce off the bar and was cleared down the feild for Mairtin Doran to net in what was the last kick of the game.
