Carnaross beaten again

Carnaross suffered their second defeat in the intermediate championship when they were well beaten by Ballivor in Athboy. Ballivor were the better team and were in control for most of the game. At half time Ballivor lead by 0-6 to 0-2 points. The Carnaross points came from Patrick Nugent. Ballivor scored some great points from play in the second half to lead by 7 points with about 5 minutes to go. Oliver Murphy then scored a goal and Daniel Reilly added a point to leave just 3 points between the teams and give Carnaross some hope. Ballivor then broke upfield and scored a goal with time almost up to leave the final score 1-13 to 1-7 in favour of Ballivor.   Best for Carnaross were Eamon Comaskey, who made a couple of great saves, Patrick Nugent in defence, Stephen Yore at midfield and Oliver Murphy in attack.   Carnaross team: Eamon Comaskey, Patrick Smith, Peter Nugent, Eamon Keenan, Peter Farrelly, Patrick Nugent(0-3 ), Thomas Farrelly, Brian Comaskey, Dermot McGee, Killian Porter, Peter Mullan, Bernard Murphy, Colin Yore, ,Stephen Yore, Oliver Murphy (1-2 ).
