Super Valu U14 Leagues Round 2

March 24, 2006
After a break for our National Holiday the Super Valu Meath U-14 leagues swing back into action with a hope that closer to a full round be played as pitches have dried up well in the past 2 weeks. In Div 1 Trim appear to have a big task as they face a home match against the now favorites St Martins who are on a high after their big win over rivals Ratoath last time out. Ratoath face O'Mahonys which should be a close affair while SS Peter/Paul face Na Fianna in a south Meath derby which could go either way. Simonstown and Round Towers will play on Thursday under lights in what shold see Simonstown open their campaign with a win. Div 2 the only Division with a full round of 1 round games played will see two 1st round winners face up at Summerhill with visitors Skyrne likely to come away with their record intact while Donaghmore/Ashbourne should get off the mark as St Colmcilles visit them. Beaten U-13 finalists Walterstown could find the going tough against St Cianan‚s who where happy to start their campaign midweek with a draw with Eat Meath rivals St Colmcille as Wolfe Tones are expected to continue winning ways as neighbours Clan na Gael visit. In Div 3 what could be match of the day Seneschalstown are fancied to get the better of Dunderry while St Patrick‚s face the long trip to Oldcastle as Inny Gaels jouney in the opposite direction to St Vincents. This will be another interesting match as they are Division 3A and 3B champions of 2005 and don‚t be surprised if the B winners St Vincent‚s make fully use of home advantage. Nobber are expected to get back to winning ways as one of the great Meath Footballing families the McEntee‚s clash at Curraha where cousins Fiachra and Ruari come face to face. Div 4 should see wins for Drumconrath/Meath Hill over St Michael‚s, Moynalvey over Castletown, Ballinlough over Syddan with Dunsany and Logwood hard to call. Div 5 Bru na Binne to get back to winning ways as Carnaross visit, Blakhall Gaels are picked to beat St Cuthbets and Clonard's recent good form as they are expected to pip Boardsmill. Division 6 has got off to a slow start as only one game was played in round 1. Rathkenny won that game and are expected to overcome newcomers Kildalkey. Gael Colmille and Kilmainhamwood should be a close affair but Ballivor would appear to be too strong for another long name club Bective- Cannistown As always the Reverse could be a bit of a lottery as St Martins will test big winners last time out Simonstown while the other games see SS Peter/Paul visit O'Mahony's , Round Towers host Donaghmore/Ashbourne and Ratoath travel to St Colmcill's
