Meath made a great start against Armagh in the Cremartin Shamrocks U-21 FT played at Castletown with a Cian Ward goal and a point from David Bray. But then Armagh got back into 'it with 4 unanswered points (2f). Meath went ahead again with a Cian Ward point, but that was to be their last time to do so. An Armagh goal by Tony Kernan put them in front for the first time in the game, and were able to build on this before the break

Conor O'Keefe and Jamie Queeney reduced the arrears on the restart with a point apiece. Points were exchanged again before a high ball from Cian ward ended in the Armagh net to leave one point between the sides. Points were exchanged on 2 more occasions before the final whistle. Meath had already qualified for the final, while Armagh needed to win to insure qualification and they duly got the required result.
The final on Saturday, 18 February in Cremartin at 3.00 pm between the 2 sides promises to be a another close encounter.
