Gaeil Colmcille recorded their first win of the 2005 Intermediate Championship and indeed their only championship victory in two years, when outpointing Na Fianna 0-14 to 0-7 in Athboy. Matters stood at 0-6 to 0-4 in the winners favour at the interval but a stronger all-round Gaeils combination gradually gained the upper hand and emerged comfortable victors.
