FL Div 4: Back to winning ways for St. Marys

April 28, 2016

Stephen Bishop - St Marys

St Mary's 0-16 Longwood 0-08

It was back to winning ways in the league for the Donore side after their disappointing loss in the 1st round of the championship earlier in the month.

The home team had set out with a game plan for a high intensity match, to put the opposition under pressure straight from the off and the plan was executed perfectly. The attitude and commitment shown by each and every one of the players meant that this was going to be their night.

Every player contributed to the task at hand however the shooting skills along with accuracy shown by James Bell both from play and off the ground deserves a special mention. The management also recognised the effort and flexibility shown by Nicky Gogan who slotted into the half back position on the night. All in all a good nights work from the Donore men which sees them positioned middle of the league table with 5 games played.

Next match is on Sunday morning away to Clonard at 12:30pm in Round 6.
