Much needed win for Boardsmill

Na Fianna 1-2 Boardsmill 9-12

Boardsmill Juniors got a much need win in the 3rd round of the Junior Championship when they visited Enfield on 23rd July.
The Na Fianna team were robbed of many of their starting 15 through injury and holiday commitments and struggled to hold a well motivated Boardsmill team.

The early exchanges set the tone for the game with Caoimhe Bird and Caroline Quinn netting in the opening minutes . Boardsmill went on to totally dominate proceedings and recorded 7-6 in the first period with a solitary reply from S Ennis for Na Fianna.  Caroline Quinn, Paula Dorian and Rachel Troy had dominated the first 15 minutes for the visitors and were withdrawn to give   Emma Mitchell Niamh Newman  and Jessica Ryall game time at the start of the 2nd quarter.

By the time Sarah Stanely blew the half time whistle,   influential midfielder Caoimhe Bird and recorded 2-1, Quinn had snatched 3-1 and Dorain had 1-2 to her name. Rachel Troy and Kim Garrigan had scored a point each  and Toni Hannon had   scored a fine goal.

Boardsmill changed their team around completely for the second period and went on to record a further 2-6 to Na Fianna's 1-1. The defenders, now attackers led by Sinead McLoughin and Ciara Regan did very well. Best for Boardsmill were Caoimhe Bird, Rachel Troy, Sarah Dowling and Caroline Quinn, they were ably supported by the experienced pair of Sinead Mcloughlin and Maeve Murray. Subs Jessica Ryall and Emma Mitchell also did well after their introduction. Best for Na Fianna were S Ennis and K Flynn
