Ratoath's Paddy Coady

Ratoath 1-14
Kiltale 1-9

Ratoath picked up their first points of their intermediate league campaign with a hard-earned victory over a battling Kiltale side.

Conleth McLarnon's early score sent Ratoath on their way but the home side had to recover from the loss of an early goal.

Further points from Podge and Sean O'Hanrahan levelled things up before Bobby O'Brien pounced from close range, finishing low to the net to put Ratoath 1-5 to 1-3 ahead.

In a close game, the gap was just one at the interval, Ratoath leading 1-7 to 1-6 before they hit the decisive scoring burst.

Five unanswered points put the game beyond Kiltale's reach, Paddy Coady, Jack McGowan and the O'Hanrahan brothers doing the damage.

The win was earned on the back of a strong all-round defensive display, Colm O'Riordan, Neil O'Dowd, Sean Laffey and Conor Ward clearing a load of ball with Ciaran O'Hanrahan and Jack McGowan getting through an amount of work at midfield.
